Fresh from her appearance in the second season of Pose, queer multidisciplinary artist Fatima Jamal landed in Florence to take the runway at Stefano Pilati’s AW20 Random Identities show. Taking place in the Italian city’s longest standing train station, the venue was turned into a pulsating underground club bathed in red light, with Jamal taking her turn in a black sequined sheath gown, alongside the likes of Lux Gillespie and Pilati himself.

My experience as a trans model is interesting. Beyond the transness, I would say that it is complicated by being plus size. I've been told that I'm very niche and will only book trans-specific work, which, in my opinion, lacks imagination and is super limiting.

Fashion has a strange fascination with shopping bags. We all remember Louis Vuitton’s controversial take on plaid Chinatown totes, while Vaquera and Public School have straight-up repurposed plastic bags from Key Food and corner stores. Telfar’s unisex vegan tote, called — what else — the Shopping Bag — has an identity all its own.
